Cynthia Ann Crawford was born February 20, 1966. She is an American actress, model and a TV host. In the 80s and 90s she was among the most popular supermodels , and frequently appeared on runways and magazine covers, as well as fashion advertisements. The following years she began to expand her acting skills and entered business. Crawford received a phone call during her sophomore year from a local clothing shop asking her to model. It was viewed as an unintentional joke from two of her peers. But, in the next year, another store hired a number of high school girls and, in particular Crawford and her sister, to do take on their work (including a fashion shoot). Roger Legel, a local photographer, approached Crawford to shoot her. He was the one responsible for the photo shoot of another college student for DeKalb Nite Weekly. Crawford was the first model to be featured on the cover. The picture as well as the positive comments received from her were enough to make her want to pursue modeling. At first, she was a part of a small agency, which was acquired by Elite Model Management shortly after she signed. In 1983, she participated in Elite's Look of the Year contest at 17 and made the national finals.
