Kristen Anne Bell is an American actor and singer born in 1980. Bell was raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) who is a nurse, and Tom Bell, a television news director. Kristen was born in Huntington Woods, Michigan with an Polish mother and a father that has a mix of German, English Irish, Scottish and Irish. Kristen was already a skilled performer from a young age. In 1992 she won her first acting role in the auditions for Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell was signed by her mother as an agent at the age of was just 13 years old. Bell was later chosen for the newspaper advertisements and commercials on TV. Along with learning in private classes, she began her acting career around that time. Bell was credited with a minor part in the film Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was a member of the drama and musical club of Shrine Catholic High School. She was a part of Dorothy in the school production of The Wizard of Oz. Bell was then transferred into New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She studied musical theater there. Bell dropped out of school in 2001 to take on the role of Becky of Tom Sawyer. The same year she appeared in Pootie Tang however, the sequence in which she appeared was cut. As a result, only her credit sequence exists. Bell made an appearance on Broadway on Broadway in The Crucible, a revival with Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
